Two arrested in Sunday stabbings in Hyannis


HYANNIS From Cape and Islands District Attorney’s office: On Sunday, September 8, 2019 Barnstable Police responded to the area of 74 Danvers Way, Hyannis for a reported disturbance. Upon arrival police located two individuals with apparent stab wounds. Both individuals were transported to Cape Cod Hospital.

A short time later Kelvin Rios and Shondell Rateree, both 20-years-old, arrived at CCH also suffering from apparent lacerations and puncture wounds. After further investigation, police arrested the aforementioned.

Rateree and Rios were arraigned today in Barnstable District Court on charges of kidnapping, assault and battery dangerous weapon and armed assault to murder. Both are held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing on Thursday.
