EASTHAM – Friday afternoon at approximately 4:40 PM, the Eastham Police Department, along with the Eastham Fire and Rescue Department, responded to a serious motor vehicle crash on Route 6 in front of Willy’s Gym. The operator of a Volvo sedan, one of the
involved vehicles. was extricated by the Eastham Fire Department and flown to a Boston hospital by a MedFlight helicopter. The operator of the second vehicle, a Jeep Patriot, was transported to Cape Cod Hospital by Eastham Fire and Rescue. The crash blocked three of the four traffic lanes on Route 6, causing significant traffic congestion. The crash is currently under investigation by the Eastham Police Department and the Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement Council’s Accident Reconstruction Team. The Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office also assisted with the investigation at the scene.
