YARMOUTHFrom Yarmouth Police: On Sunday 2:18 AM, Yarmouth Police Department Patrol Officer Liam Breen observed a vehicle traveling 57 MPH in the 40 MPH zone on Route 28 in West Yarmouth.

Patrol Officer Breen activated the cruiser emergency blue lights and siren and attempted to stop the speeding vehicle.

The vehicle increased its speed and made a sharp right turn into the parking lot of the Bayside Resort Hotel.

As the vehicle took the turn into the parking lot, the vehicle missed the paved entrance and drove over the mulch and bushes to the left of the front entrance and struck a boulder on the mulch with the boulder becoming stuck under the vehicle.

As the vehicle continued through the parking lot, it took a sharp left turn behind a row of parked cars and came to a sudden stop.

The operator was encountered, identified as Arpad Peter Voros Jr., and detained.

During the encounter, Patrol Officer Breen observed a water bottle with tin foil on the top and a straw inserted into the side of the water bottle as well as a roll of tin foil on the passenger floor of the Ford F-150 truck.

Back up Patrol Officer Matt Mangano arrived and subsequently discovered three small white rocks on the driver side floor wrapped in tin foil which tested positive as crack cocaine.

An inventory of the contents of the vehicle located hallucinogenic mushrooms in a clear plastic baggy.

Aprad Jr. was placed under arrest on charges of operating after license suspended (subsequent offense), fail to stop for police, destruction of property, speeding, and possession of a Class B substance (cocaine) and transported to Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters.

He was due for arraignment in the Barnstable District Court on Monday, September 30, 2019.
