TRURO – A sport utility vehicle and a Truro Police cruiser collided on Route 6 around 7:30 PM Sunday evening. The crash happened at the intersection of Joseph’s Road. Photos showed a Honda Pilot with heavy front end damage and an unmarked Dodge Durango cruiser with damage to its right rear. A total of 7 people were taken to Cape Cod Hospital by ambulances from Truro, Provincetown, Wellfleet and Eastham. Luckily none of the injuries appeared life-threatening. Late Sunday evening, Truro Deputy Chief Craig Danziger confirmed to Cape Wide News the officer was responding to an emergency request for assistance from another officer and did have lights and siren activated when the crash occurred. The Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement Council Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash.
