PROVINCETOWN – A woman was seriously injured in a bike accident late Friday morning. Officials were called to the Provincelands Bike Trail near the tunnel close to the Visitor Center off Provincelands Road in the Cape Cod National Seashore. The woman was put on a backboard and carried out to a waiting ambulance. The victim, who was reportedly not wearing a helmet, suffered a head injury. Paramedics arranged to meet a MedFlight helicopter at Barnstable Municipal Airport. The victim was flown to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. The accident is under investigation by U.S. Park Rangers.
