YARMOUTH – Yarmouth Police report that on Saturday at 2:49 p.m. Yarmouth Police Department Patrol Officers Geary and Giammarco spotted a wanted person standing in front of his home on Francis Helen Road in Yarmouth Port.
Upon seeing the Police Officers the wanted man, 23-year-old Anthony M. Mendoza, ran off into the woods in the nearby Bass River Rod and Gun Club. Officer Geary pursued the suspect on foot through the woods and captured him a short time later.
Mendoza was processed at Yarmouth Police Headquarters on an outstanding warrant from Barnstable District Court for Probation Violations A&B Family Member (2 counts) and Intimidating a Witness. Mendoza was due to be arraigned in the Barnstable District Court Monday.
