Winners In The 21st Annual Eventide Arts Songwriting Competition

The Eventide Arts Theatre Company and Vinegrass Music wrapped up their 21st Annual New England Songwriting Competition this weekend.

Entries were accepted from the first of the year through March of 2019 from across the region. There were 9 music categories with one winner in each genre, plus overall winners and judges picks. As you can see, the Cape was well represented with many awards going to both new and established songwriters from our area.

And the 2019 winners are:

Country

“Wild Fire” – Nadine Miller – FALMOUTH

“Black and White” – David MacMillan – RI

Pop/Rock

“Like Lightning” – Rachel Harvey Hill – RI

Singer Songwriter

“Selfish Like You” – Kelly English – CT

Folk / Americana

“Letter From the Line” – Digney Fignus – HARWICH

16 & Under

“Devil Tonight” – Emily Celia – HYANNIS

Religious

“We All Die To Live Again” – Kevin Hale – TN

Instrumental

“Red Balloons and Dreams” – Ryan Garifine – PLYMOUTH

Blues

“Rednecks and Whiskey” – Digney Fignus – HARWICH

Grand Prizes:

1st Place – “Maria” – Hayley Sabella -PLYMOUTH – ($500 cash prize)
2nd Place – “Heart of Stone” – Lainey Dionne – RI – ($250 cash prize)
3rd Place – “Like Lightning” – Rachel Harvey Hill – RI – ($100 cash prize)
