CHATHAM – The Eldredge Public Library in Chatham will welcome a special guest early next month.
English author Bernard Cornwell will be giving a talk and signing copies of his recently published non-fiction book “Waterloo: The History of Four Days, Three Armies and Three Battles” on Thursday, September 3 beginning at 7 p.m.
Cornwell says this will likely be his only work of non-fiction and this might be his only talk and book signing event in North America this year.
A television series will debut on BBC America this October based on Cornwell’s Saxon Warlord Chronicles.
The show, which is titled “The Last Kingdom,” will have an eight-episode first season based on the first two books of the series, “The Last Kingdom” and “The Pale Horseman.”
The next and ninth book of the series is scheduled to be published in the U.S. next January.
The event is free and books will be available for purchase at the library by the Yellow Umbrella Book Shop in Chatham.
