Barnstable Police Seeking Residents for Police Exam

Barnstable Police LogoBARNSTABLE – Barnstable police are looking for qualified town residents to take the police officer examination administered by the state’s human resources division on April 25.

The deadline for registration is March 13.

Registrants must be 21 years old and have a high school diploma or served at least three years in the armed services and received an honorable discharge.

The Barnstable Police Department exclusively hires new officers from the residency preference list who have lived in Barnstable for at least a full year prior to the test.

The examination fee is $100 and registration can be completed online.

Barnstable police will continue to post updates about the exam and useful links on the department’s Facebook page.

A limited number of flyers containing information about the test are also available in the lobby of the police headquarters located at 1200 Phinney’s Lane.
