BREWSTER – Brewster Town Administrator Michael Embury has submitted his resignation to the town’s board of selectmen.

The board will meet Monday night to consider how to move forward and whether or not to sign a separation agreement ending their relationship with Embury.

The Select Board will then be left to identify an interim town administrator and begin a search for a permanent replacement for the position.

Embury has been in his position since 2015 and has recently come under fire after an annual audit raised questions about the town’s accounting practices.

Embury replaced Charles Sumner who had served as Brewster’s Town Administrator for 29 years.
