BUZZARDS BAY – Join the Friends of Myles Standish State Forest and astronomer Jim Kundzicz at Wildlands Trust’s Davis-Douglas Farm for an opportunity to view and learn about the constellations of the winter sky.
Jim will start with an inside Presentation in the Barn, reviewing what participants will be targeting once they go outside.
Starting early will allow the attendees to see the moon during dusk, before it gets too bright.
They will also target several winter constellations when it gets darker – which they can view/discuss with the aid of a laser pointer.
They will also use the large binoculars for the Pleiades and Beehive Star Clusters, along with the 10-inch telescope for the Orion Nebula and maybe the Andromeda galaxy.
All ages are welcome to come and go during the hours of 5–7:30 pm.
The cost for the event is free and for more information, go to savebuzzardsbay.org.
The Buzzards Bay Coalition is a membership-supported nonprofit organization dedicated to the restoration, protection, and sustainable use and enjoyment of our irreplaceable Bay and its watershed.
