BREWSTER – The marsh birds of Wellfleet’s Herring River will be the featured topic at the November meeting of the Cape Cod Bird Club.

The Herring River is now recognized as one of the most significant breeding localities for marsh birds on the Cape and along the Massachusetts Coast.

The meeting will be held on Monday, November 9 at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History on Route 6A in Brewster at 7 p.m.

Steve Broker will be the November speaker. He is the vice-president of the Connecticut Ornithological Association and his field studies since the late 1990s have focused on the breeding of Peregrine Falcons, Common Ravens and Wellfleet marsh birds.

The bird club meetings are free and open to the public.

The club will also hold five walks throughout the month.

The first will be held Sunday in Bourne at 8 a.m. at the Four Ponds Conservation Area.
