YARMOUTH – With Election Day just hours away, Republican candidates and supporters took some time Sunday night to unwind, relax, and gear up for the final campaign push.
They gathered at the Irish Village in Yarmouth for a pre election rally, which served as a collective breath before starting the home stretch of the campaign trail.
“This is kind of a way for us to get everybody together to thank the candidates, their families, their loved ones for all the support and all the hard work, and to try and gear up a little bit of energy for one last push to victory on Tuesday,” said Representative Tim Whelan.
“For a candidate, as you get to the end of what can sometimes be a grind, that just gives you that boost in the arm,” said Massachusetts State Senate candidate Anthony Schiavi. “People are excited, I’m excited, and it’s really about taking it over the finish line at this point.”
Candidates plan to be back on the trail Monday, knocking on doors, meeting voters and thanking volunteers up until the polls close on Tuesday at 8 p.m.
