Cape Symphony, John Pizzarelli to Perform Tribute to Nat King Cole

Grammy Award winner John Pizzarelli to perform with Cape Symphony for Unforgettable: Pizzarelli Celebrates Nat King Cole on October 14 and 15.

HYANNIS – A multi-Grammy Award winner will perform with the Cape Symphony later this month to pay tribute to the 100th birthday of Nat King Cole.

Pizzarelli was heavily influenced by Cole and has even recorded two albums named after him – Dear Mr. Cole and P.S. Mr. Cole.

He will highlight not just Cole, but jazz in general.

The orchestra will also feature two medleys featuring the kings of jazz: Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong.

Cape Symphony Artistic Director & Conductor Jung Ho Pak says the tribute will follow Cole’s journey from jazz pianist to pop superstar.

Unforgettable will be performed Saturday, October 14 at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, the 15th at 3 p.m.
