CARE for the Cape and Islands Presents Cape Abilities with Stewardship Award

YARMOUTH PORT–Creating a Responsible Environment (CARE) for the Cape and Islands presented their annual Stewardship Award to Cape Abilities at their summit this week.

The Cape Abilities “Green Team” has worked with CARE to promote a healthy environment in the area by completing tasks such as tree and flower planting, beach cleanups, and educating the public on the dangers of single-use plastics.

Cape Abilities’ mission is to empower individuals with disabilities across Cape Cod via education, employment opportunities, counseling, and more.

CARE also presented the Youth Stewardship Award to Plastic Free MV, a group of 5th and 6th graders who helped play a major role in passing the ban of water and soda sales in single-use plastic bottles in three towns on Martha’s Vineyard.

The summit was held at the Cape and Islands Realtors Association Conference Center.
