CORD Seeking Volunteer Mentors for ‘Bridges to Success’ Program

HYANNIS –  The Cape Organization for Rights of the Disabled (CORD) is seeking volunteer mentors for its Bridges to Success program, a vocational program for young adults aged 17-26 who have learning or intellectual disabilities.

Participants of the program work with a community advocate, the volunteer mentor, on the specific skills they need to go through a job search.

The community advocate helps the individual search for opportunities that match their particular interests and availability.

Mentors support participants in a variety of ways, including with creating a resume or support with the job application process. Mentors also help with interviewing techniques, how to conduct a job search, how to follow up with questions, and how to self-advocate.

For more information about this volunteer opportunity, contact Tina Games, Program Coordinator at 508-775-8300 (ext. 17) or [email protected]

The Cape Organization for Rights of the Disabled (CORD) is a 501(c)(3) based in Hyannis. Since 1984, it has been committed to advancing the independence, productivity, and integration of people with disabilities into mainstream society.
