Cyr Announces “Canvass Kickoff” Event

Cape and Islands State Senator Julian Cyr will kick off his reelection campaign next week.

The “Canvass Kickoff” will feature brief remarks from Cyr, after which volunteers will set out knocking to knock on doors and handing out information encouraging residents to vote in this November’s election.

The Truro democrat made door-to-door canvassing a cornerstone of his 2016 campaign, with volunteers approaching roughly 22,000 residents on the Cape and Islands.

Cyr is facing a challenge this year from Barnstable Town Councilor John Flores. Flores says that he is a Baker republican who is fiscally conservative and socially moderate or liberal.

Cyr’s “Canvass Kickoff” will take place next Saturday at 11 North Main Street in South Yarmouth, from 10 AM until 1.
