FALMOUTH – Doug the Quahog made his “prognostication” this afternoon on the number of beach days the Cape would see this summer.
The event is a way for the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce to welcome in summer and promote the region to visitors.
Doug predicted 80 days of sunshine at the restaurant, The Flying Bridge, on Falmouth Harbor during the 7th Annual Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce Quahog Day.
“We are so excited,” said Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce Vice President of Tourism and Marketing Kristen Mitchell Hughes. “Doug definitely hit it out of the park today with his prognostication. Everyone was so excited after the winter we’ve had. We all deserve this.”
Mitchell Hughes said the goal of the event is to put a positive outlook on what visitors and residents can expect for the summer.
“We just want to kick off summer in style and get everyone excited about the beach weather ahead,” she said.
