HYANNIS – Duffy Health Center will host its 10th annual Gala next Friday, May 3rd, at the Barnstable Municipal Airport.
The event is Duffy’s largest fundraiser of the year and is an opportunity for the community to celebrate the care provided by Duffy to its many patients.
“The goal of our evening however is to invite people from our community who may not know about Duffy and the work that our providers do every day,” said Director of Development and Community Relations, Sara Grambach.
The gala starts at 6 p.m. with a strolling dinner provided by The Casual Gourmet and a raw bar provided by The Naked Oyster.
The event features a silent and live auction, led by John Terrio from Auction Knights and a performance by the Bert Jackson Trio.
Duffy Health Center will also continue the signature tradition of the gala, the trip give away.
Every person who purchases a ticket will be entered into a raffle with a chance to win a trip to Nashville, Tennessee.
Two names will be pulled from the raffle and then the winners plus their guest will board a private Rectrix Challenger jet for a weekend getaway.
Duffy Health Centers’ mission is to provide comprehensive health care to people who are or may experience homelessness.
“The population has grown here on the Cape, that definition of homelessness includes not only those who are considered street homeless, who may be living in woods or tents, they may be homeless in that they are couch surfing, said Grambach.
“They may live with family members or friends and may be consistently transient.”
Duffy Health Center CEO Heidi Nelson said this year will feature a new style and a new venue.
“We are so excited to celebrate our work at this year’s gala,” she said.
