Falmouth Appoints New Representative to the Cape Cod Commission

cape cod commissionFALMOUTH – The Falmouth Board of Selectmen recently appointed a new representative to the Cape Cod Commission.

Charles McCaffrey was chosen to serve a three-year term last month to replace Andrew Putnam, who resigned.

McCaffrey is a town meeting member and is the chairman of the building and grounds committee at Highfield Hall & Gardens.

He told the board why he would be a good fit.

“Much of my work has been working and helping communities and regions develop policy,” he said. “I’m a good wordsmith and that’s important.”

McCaffrey believes his skills will be useful to the commission.

“I think it’s important to have deep knowledge in order to be effective in making regulatory decisions and that’s a major part of the role of the Cape Cod Commission.”

McCaffrey has a master’s degree in urban planning from the University of Illinois and was a past chairman of the coastal pond management committee in Falmouth.
