Falmouth Voters Approve Money to Take Down Wind Turbines

FALMOUTH – On the second night of Falmouth’s Annual Fall Town Meeting, voters approved an article that requests $2.5 million to dismantle the two wind turbines at the town’s wastewater plant.

The turbines have been problematic for the town in recent years with neighbors bringing a number of lawsuits against the town for it.

An article that allows selectmen to negotiate with the owners of an open property on Worcester Court and Spring Bars Road for municipal off-street parking was also approved by voters.

But voters will be back again tonight to consider more articles on the 36 article warrant, including a request the lease the current senior center on Dillingham Avenue when the current one opens.

Town Meeting continues at 7pm at the Lawrence School.
