Friends of Mashpee Library to Hold Auction Fundraiser

libraryMASHPEE – The Friends of the Mashpee Library are celebrating the library’s fifth year next month with an auction fundraiser.

The live, silent auction will be held on Thursday, June 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the New Seabury Country Club on Red Brook Road.

Well-known television personality Susan Wornick will be the auctioneer and Danny Nolan will be on hand to provide a musical interlude.

The event will include hors d’oeuvres, cash bar and an array of auction items which have been donated by local merchants.

Some of the featured auction items include a Nantucket holiday for four, gift certificates for Cape and Boston restaurants, a tour of the Boston Symphony, rounds of golf on the Cape’s best courses and two tickets to a New England Patriots game.

Chairwoman for the event Ginny Farwell says there are auction items for everyone and that they expect to raise a significant amount of money for the library.

She added that Mashpee has one of the busiest libraries in the region and funding from the Friends of the Mashpee Library helps guarantee that its services keep expanding.

Tickets for the event are $50 and reservation forms are available at the library.
