Friends of Nobska Light Announces New Museum and Crystal Sculpture

FALMOUTH – The Friends of Nobska Light organization announced last week the establishment of the Nobska Lighthouse and Maritime Museum.

This announcement came at an event held at the Woods Hole golf Club along with the unveiling of a commemorative crystal sculpture of Nobska Lighthouse, crafted by Waterford.

“Waterford is honored to be a part of the Nobsk Lighthouse and Maritime Museum project with the creation of this commemorative crystal piece,” said Tom Brennan, Waterford Crystal Spokesperson and Master Craftsman.

The commemorative sculpture stands 16 inches high and weighs 14 pounds and is a symbol of true Waterford craftsmanship.

Over 50 man-hours were dedicated to creating the stunning one of a kind masterpiece.

The new museum will join Falmouth’s excellent museums with a unique focus on matters of the sea.

Friends of Nobska Light Executive Director Catherine Bumpus said, “This event is a celebration of both the progress the organization has made over a few short years and the inspiring vision of our future.”

“Friends of Nobska Light is incredibly grateful for the philanthropic support that makes and has made this mission a reality but there is more work to do, the story of Nobska is far from complete.”

Nobska Light is Falmouth’s leading tourist attraction and a visible sign of the community.
