FALMOUTH – The longtime leader of Gosnold on Cape Cod is taking on a new role at the organization that provides addiction treatment and counseling to the region.

Raymond Tamasi will retain his position as president and turn over day-to-day operations of Gosnold to Richard Curcuru.

The agency says Tamasi will lead Gosnold in its commitment to innovation and the development of new approaches in addiction treatment.

Curcuru is currently the executive director for behavioral medicine at Tenet Healthcare, and formally worked at Cape Cod Healthcare as executive director of behavior health.

“Over the last several years Ray’s reputation as a national leader in addiction treatment has been accelerated by the innovative programs and ideas he has developed. We believe that his greatest contribution to Gosnold and the addiction field can best be realized by enabling him to devote his effort to work with other national experts, policy makers, and researchers to improve addiction prevention, treatment, and management,” said Gosnold Chairman of the Board, Donald Quenneville

“I am extremely honored to become CEO of Gosnold – one of the most respected addiction and mental health organizations in the country,” said Curcuru in a statement.

“Gosnold’s innovative programs and outstanding staff form a solid foundation upon which to build for future growth and success. I look forward to working with Ray to accomplish these goals,” he said.

“I am very pleased to welcome Richard to the Gosnold family,” said Tamasi.

“We have worked together in the past and I am excited to renew that relationship to advance the progress our team is making to develop new approaches for the prevention, treatment, and management of addiction and mental illness.”

“The Visionary Leadership award he (Tamasi) recently received from the National Council of Behavioral Health reinforces our belief that Ray’s greatest contributions are still to come,” said Quenneville.

“Curcuru is exceptionally talented and we are confident of his ability to lead the Gosnold management team. He has a strong personal bond with Mr. Tamasi and shares the Board’s vision for the future of Gosnold. We are very excited that he will join the Gosnold team,” Quenneville said.

Curcuru will begin his new job on April 18th.

Tamasi was recently awarded the Visionary Leadership Award from the National Council of Behavioral Health.
