Great Music on Sundays Concert Series Continues with ‘The Beauty of Baroque’

PROVINCETOWN – The Great Music on Sundays @5 concert series in Provincetown is in full swing and it continues this weekend with “The Beauty of Baroque.”

The concert at 5 p.m. July 7 at the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House of Provincetown will feature the works of Johann Sebastian Bach, George Frideric Handel, and Benjamin Britten.

Performers include operatic countertenor Christopher Lowrey, tenor Krishan Oberoi, and Frederick Jodry on piano.

Lowrey is the winner of the 2011 London Handel competition and will perform a bouquet of arias from Handel’s Italian operas.

Boston-based tenor Oberoi will join Lowrey in Britten’s church canticle “Abraham and Isaac,” and Jodry will offer Bach preludes and fugues from “The Well-Tempered Clavier Book II.”

Tickets for Great Music on Sundays @5 concerts are $20 and can be purchased online in advance at brownpapertickets.com or at the door. Admission for seniors is $15 and children 12 and under are free.

The concert series runs through October 6.
