Guyon Selected as New WE CAN Executive Director

HARWICH PORT – A new executive director has been selected by Women’s Empowerment through Cape Area Networking (WE CAN).

WE CAN has selected Lisa Guyon, who will begin her role as Executive Director on March 25.

“I was born and raised here on the Cape and went to college not too far away. I’ve been involved in the non-profit sector for about 15 years working on issues such as housing, healthcare and human services,” said Guyon.

“I’ve been a longtime fan of the organization, and a donor. I’ve been involved as a volunteer sporadically throughout a few years. So, there’s really no end to the respect this organization has in the community and it just felt like such a perfect fit for me, and here we are today.”

WE CAN is an organization dedicated to helping Cape Cod women achieve lasting positive change for themselves and their families.

“The mission and the vision are really interconnected. WE CAN works to empower women on Cape Cod with services that inspire hope and bring opportunity for self-sufficiency and stability at all different places across a continuum of services a woman might need,” Guyon explained.

Lisa began her career in the for-profit sector in commercial real estate and the hospitality industry. In 2004, she founded Building Impact, an award-winning non-profit organization in Boston encouraging corporate citizenship in small and medium businesses.

She went on to provide leadership at Housing Assistance Corporation in Hyannis. Most recently as Director of Community Benefits and Grants Administration at Cape Cod Healthcare where she directs a system-wide community benefits program and manages relationships with community organizations and coalitions, task forces, public health providers and governmental agencies.

“WE CAN sought a strategic leader who had a history of vast contribution to the Cape Cod community and a strong track record of organizational growth,” said WE CAN Board President, Lori Pinard.

“In Lisa, the staff and Board agree, we have found both. Lisa is a bright, articulate and energetic woman who is well-known and highly regarded for her leadership and significant contributions in the Cape community.”

Lisa currently serves on the Board for Community Development Partnership and founded and volunteers for the Cape Cod Pet Collective. She previously served on the Board of Cape Cod Young Professionals (CCYP) including serving as President of the Board of Directors in 2013 and 2014.
