Habitat Cape Cod Announces $70k Grant from Willett Foundation Fund

YARMOUTH – Habitat for Humanity Cape Cod has received a $70,000 grant from the Willett Foundation Fund of the Cape Cod Foundation.

The funds will support a planned a ten home neighborhood in Falmouth.
“We are so appreciative of the gift, not just this one but in the past years, that we have named the road in Falmouth where we’re going to build 10 homes after Herb Willett, so it’s going to be Willett Way,” said Director of Habitat Resource Development Wendy Cullinan.

Additional funding has been provided through a Falmouth Community Preservation Grant to support land acquisition.

The Willett Way community housing project will be built in two phases and will consist of a mix of two and three-bedroom homes.

With the 10 new Habitat homes on the horizon as well as additional homes to be built in Brewster, Wellfleet, Mashpee, Harwich and Chatham, Habitat Cape Cod is looking for home sponsors and volunteers.

“We are really so appreciative of the generous community here on Cape Cod,” said Cullinan. “We are really proud that we’ve built 135 homes and we have a lot more in our pipeline.”
