New apartments to be constructed in Mashpee Commons

MASHPEE – Plans have been announced for Northland Residential Corporation to construct 54 new one, two and three-bedroom apartments as part of a residential expansion project at Mashpee Commons.

The units will be located in eleven buildings located along Market Street and Jobs Fishing Road.

The neighborhood will be built in accordance with the Massachusetts Chapter 40B statute and include 14 affordable apartments for qualifying tenants.

The residential expansion is being financed by BankNewport, a longstanding community bank headquartered in Newport, Rhode Island.

“This development at Mashpee Commons reflects our continued commitment to create thoughtful, community-focused housing on Cape Cod,” said Jack Dawley, President and CEO of Northland Residential. “The region is in critical need of additional rental housing. With vibrant shopping, dining and entertainment amenities at the doorstep, Mashpee Commons is the ideal location for a new residential neighborhood.”

The new units are scheduled to be available for initial occupancy during the third quarter of 2026, with full occupancy within two years.

Mashpee Commons currently includes over 100 businesses and 77 apartments.

Expansion plans at the Commons have been in the works for several years
