Massachusetts Police, FBI Investigate Several School Threats

FBI ShieldBOSTON (AP) — Authorities say more than a dozen school districts across Massachusetts have received bomb threats.

The threats Tuesday came in to school districts including Boston, Waltham, Arlington and Weymouth. The threats were made to high schools, middle schools and at least one elementary school. None of the threats has proved credible.

Authorities described most of the threats as automated phone calls.

An FBI spokeswoman says the agency is working with local and state authorities to determine the source of the threats. She says the FBI’s involvement in such cases is routine.

Some schools sheltered in place, while in some, students were sent home early.

There was no word on any arrests.

Tuesday’s threats came in the wake of a rash of several school threats on Friday. Nothing hazardous was found.
