Massachusetts YMCA to Provide Free Year-Long Access to Foster Children

BROCKTON – The Massachusetts YMCA announced on June 11 that they have partnered with the Wonderfund to provide free, year-long access to over 12,000 foster children in the state covered by the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF).

Cape Cod YMCA President and CEO Stacie Peugh outlined what the partnership entails for these children.

“That provides them with some free use programming that’s included with that membership, as well as much lower pricing on many of our other fee based programs, such as summer camp, child care, swim lessons, youth sports activities,” Peugh explained.

“The YMCA is focused on youth development and nurturing the potential of every child and team that we interact with, in helping them develop those life skills, social skills, support their academic efforts…and have that well rounded relationship building skill set with friends and through their social networks.”

Previously, the Wonderfund has worked with the Cape Cod Children’s Museum, the Museum of Science in Boston, and Zoo New England.
