National Seashore to Continue Traffic Detours Along Province Lands Road

ThinkstockPhotos-186753210PROVINCETOWN – In order to protect the spadefoot toad, the National Seashore will implement occasional detours along Province Lands Road in Provincetown from April through October.

The spadefoot toad is listed as “threatened” by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and uses shallow temporary ponds in the Province Lands area for breeding and feeding.

The occasional closures will only occur at night, and will stretch from Province Lands Road just north of the entrance to Herring Cove Beach to the intersection with Race Point Road.
