Outer Cape Health Services Executive Joins Healthcare Board

HARWICHPORT – Andy Lowe of Eastham, the Chief Strategy Officer of Outer Cape Health Services, has been tapped to join the Board of Directors of the New England Rural Health Round Table, an advocacy group addressing challenges in rural healthcare.

The group was founded in 1987 and now includes a variety of healthcare providers and other interested parties in addressing disparities in healthcare delivery in rural areas as compared to that of areas of larger populations.

The majority of Outer Cape Health Services’ service region is classified as rural by the state’s Office of Rural Health because of the combination of low population density and isolation from services, employment opportunities and resources.

Due to the area’s distance from hospitals and other health care facilities, Outer Cape Health works to coordinate patient care with other social service and health agencies and Cape Cod Hospital.
