Pleasant Bay Community Boating Appoints New Executive Director

Patrick Richardson was named the new executive director of Pleasant Bay Community Boating.

HARWICH – A local nonprofit that offers boating, marine education and environmental stewardship opportunities for residents and visitors in the Pleasant Bay region has named a new leader.

Pleasant Bay Community Boating has appointed Patrick Richardson to the position of executive director.

Richardson most recently served as the chief development officer for YMCA Cape Cod where he drastically increased annual campaign funds and charitable giving.

One of his first tasks for the organization will be to helm the nearly $5 million capital campaign to support the 2014 purchase of direct waterfront property.

Richardson said he is excited to join PBCB at a time when the organization is poised to enter new levels in its recreational boating, environmental stewardship and marine education programs.

“I am a passionate advocate for children and families,” he said. “Teachable moments don’t happen if a child can’t afford to participate.”

He replaces Charles Sumner, who is retiring after three years in the position.
