Provincetown Music Series Continues with ‘Admiration and Friendship’

PROVINCETOWN – The Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum will host the second concert in the Chamber Music Series for the Outer Cape in February.

“Admiration and Friendship” is Saturday, February 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the East Gallery.

The concert includes two works by composers whose friendship and admiration became legendary in the musical world of the 19th century – Johannes Brahms and Antonin Dvorak.

Brahms’ comments and writings about Dvorak established Dvorak’s first foothold in the minds of Europeans outside Czech borders.

The concerts’ first half will present Brahms Horn Trio where the horn replaces the cello with its mellow tones.

The second half will feature Dvorak’s Piano Quartet in E flat opus 87.
