CENTERVILLE – It’s still the middle of winter, but it’s not too early to begin thinking about the Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival.
Gardeners from across the region will gather for the fifth annual festival from July 12-21.
The event is a celebration of the region’s signature bloom, the hydrangea, along with encompassing plants of all kinds.
The main attraction during the festival is tours of local of local gardens, which are usually kept off-limits and only maintained by individual homeowners throughout the year.
Tours of these private spaces are $5 per person per garden. Each garden is paired with a nonprofit organization which will receive 100 percent of the proceeds.
All area nonprofits are welcome to join the festival and businesses can also host plant-related lectures, workshops and demonstrations.
Local nonprofits, businesses and garden owners interested in participating are invited to attend an informational meeting on Thursday, January 24 at 3 p.m. at the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce in Centerville.
