SANDWICH – The 10th annual Sandwich Fest will be held today and once again local restaurants will compete to see who will take home the coveted Best Sandwich in Sandwich award.
The festival will run from 10-4 at 18 Water St. in Sandwich, and while admission is free, anyone interested in participating in the sandwich contest needs to purchase a ticket for one of the three seatings being offered at 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m.
Along with showcasing Sandwich’s restaurants, it’s also the town’s way of kicking off the busy summer season.
“It showcases a lot of the history here in town, it showcases the businesses and some of the cultural things we have going on like our museums,” said Sandwich Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Teri Stanley.
“The fact that we have it at the beginning of the summer season enables them to provide information about what their season will hold,” she said.
In addition to the contest, there will be live music, as well as a dog costume parade and competition.
