HYANNIS – Registration is now open for multiple blood drives being hosted by Cape Cod Healthcare during the first full week of April.
Clinics in Sandwich, Yarmouthport, Wellfleet, and Hyannis are open for appointments, which are required by Cape Cod Healthcare to give blood.
As the coronavirus pandemic continues, the healthcare organization is reminding residents that the need for a consistently fresh stockpile of blood is crucial.
Specifically, Cape Cod Healthcare has noted that there is an “urgent need” for donations of O positive and O negative blood.
The following clinics currently have open spots for bookings.
-April 5: Clark-Haddad American Legion, 20 Main Street, Sandwich, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
-April 6: Bass River Rod and Gun Club, 621 Route 6A, Yarmouthport, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
-April 7: Grace Chapel, 25 Lieutenant Island Road, Wellfleet, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
-April 8: Shepley, 75 Benjamin Franklin Way, Hyannis, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The Nicholas G. Xiarhos Blood Donor Center is also open for appointments at Cape Cod Hospital from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays.
