SAGAMORE – A motor vehicle rollover on Route 6 westbound in Sagamore caused major traffic delays on Cape today.
The left lane on Route 6 westbound reopened around 1:15 this afternoon and now all lanes traveling in both directions are open, according to officials from the State Police Bourne Barracks.
The accident happened just before 9:30 a.m. when a Ford F-250 pickup truck pulling a utility trailer rolled over, according to Bourne Deputy Fire Chief David Pelonzi.
Pelonzi said there was a large amount of debris in the roadway and a diesel fuel spill.
Rescue crews transported two passengers who were riding in the pickup to Cape Cod Hospital with injuries described as non life-threatening.
Pelonzi said the two passengers were out of the truck when crews arrived on scene.
Fire crews were on scene for about 3 hours helping to clean the fuel spill, along with crews from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection.
One eastbound lane was closed until about 10:30 a.m.
