Sandwich Voters Return Incumbents, Approve Wasterwater Plans

SANDWICH – Sandwich voters re-elected an incumbent selectmen on Thursday.

David Sampson was returned to the board and will be joined by Charles Holden, who won the other available seat. Claudia Gale finished third and out of the running.

Sandwich School Committee member Keri Lynn Ames was re-elected to her spot. She’ll be joined on the board by Kristin Bader, who picked up the second seat up for election.

Sandwich voters approved a ballot question reducing the Community Preservation Act surcharge from three to two percent and create a new two percent waterwater surcharge.

The first ballot question that would create a special “Municipal Water Infrastructure Investment Fund” was also approved.

It will provide a dedicated funding source for municipal wastewater and stormwater infrastructure.

There were uncontested races for town clerk, planning board, board of assessors, board of health, constable, library trustee and Weston Memorial Fund trustee.
