Sea Term Update: Cadets Depart Barbados

COUTESY OF CADET BLOGGER EMILY CASELLA: Freshmen man the rails as the T.S. Kennedy arrives in Barbados last Friday.

BRIDGETOWN, BARBADOS – Mass Maritime Cadets on the annual Sea Term are back on board the T.S. Kennedy after spending the weekend in Barbados.

The island was the second of four stops for the students who handle all operations on the training vessel for nearly two months.

The Kennedy departed Bridgetown Monday morning, according to marinetraffic.com, and will still make ports of call in St. Thomas and Fort Lauderdale before returning to Buzzards Bay later in February.

Cadets have already conducted anchoring drills off the coast of Puerto Rico and took part in an emergency pyrotechnic exercise. They spent the previous weekend in Aruba.
