Shark Sightings Close Multiple Outer Cape Beaches Monday

WELLFLEET – Several Outer Cape beaches were closed Monday following shark sightings.

According to the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy’s Sharktivity app, Head of the Meadow Beach in Truro was closed to swimming after a shark sighting around 3:15 p.m.

Nauset Public Beach in Orleans was closed after a confirmed sighting around 1 p.m.

The Cape Cod National Seashore reported a confirmed sighting at Marconi Beach in Wellfleet around 10:30 a.m.

Newcomb Hollow Beach in Wellfleet was also closed around 9:30 a.m. following a shark sighting.

Following confirmed shark activity, beaches are closed to swimming for an hour pending further sightings.
