Shark Tagged Off Provincetown, Alert Issued Off Truro

PROVINCETOWN – Increased shark activity continues Tuesday on the Outer Cape.

State shark expert Dr. Greg Skomal, working with the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy and Sulikowski Shark & Fish Research Lab, tagged an 11-foot great white shark off Provincetown with an acoustic and short-term pop-off satellite tag.

The conservancy’s Sharktivity app issued a shark alert off Longnook Beach in Truro.

Another confirmed sighting was reported off Truro’s Ballston Beach.
