Plans Underway for New Lower Cape Curling Club in Orleans

ORLEANS – Have you ever watched Olympics and wondered what curling is all about?

The Lower Cape Curling Club is hosting a series of clinics over the fall and winter meant to familiarize participants with the basics of the sport.

The introductory program, Learn to Curl, is a two hour course teaching the important fundamentals and skills of curling. Participants also watch a video explaining the rules of play before going onto the ice to learn the game from experienced curlers.

The club says that once someone has completed the training they’re eligible for the Fall season of the Lower Cape Curling Club at the Charles Moore Arena in Orleans. The 11-week season begins at the end of October with the league scheduling games for Wednesday mornings and Sunday nights.

The training program costs $30 with equipment provided on site. Pre-registration and payment are both required.

The first session is Saturday and the second takes place on October 14.
