HARWICH – The state has announced $9.3 million in workforce skills equipment grants to 35 high schools, community colleges and vocational training providers across the Commonwealth.
The grants are for vocational-technical education and training equipment purchases that connect students and residents to economic opportunities in high-demand industries.
Cape Cod Regional Technical High School in Harwich received over $312,000 to prepare students in the school’s engineering program and support a revamping of horticultural and landscaping training.
Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical School in Bourne received more than $422,000 to purchase a state-of-the-art landscape construction equipment for its horticulture and landscape contracting program.
“This will help provide a great opportunity for some of our youngsters, some of our children to improve on their vocational education and find work in the workforce right here on Cape Cod,” said Barnstable State Representative Tim Whelan.
