State Police Led on Route 6 Chase

HARWICH – A Massachusetts State Police cruiser chased a Ford Escape on Route 6, Friday night.

Troopers attempted to stop the car, driven by a woman, heading eastbound in Yarmouth just after 6:45 p.m.

The driver continued down the highway traveling at speeds between 45 and 70 mph.

Another trooper deployed stop sticks, a device used to puncture a vehicles tires, and deflated the car’s front tires in Harwich.

The woman continued to travel eastbound until a Brewster Police Department cruiser entered the highway in front of the suspect and, by slowing down, forced the Ford Escape to stop.

Brewster EMS transported the woman to Cape Cod Hospital for an undisclosed medical issue.

The driver will be summonsed for motor vehicle infractions and will be filed as an immediate threat with the RMV.

As a result of the pursuit, there were no vehicle crashes or injuries sustained.police car
