Steve Martin’s ‘Meteor Shower’ to be Performed at Cotuit Center for the Arts

COTUIT – A free staged reading of a play written by comedian Steve Martin will be held next month at Cotuit Center for the Arts.

The Watermelon Alligator Theater Company presents “Meteor Shower” on Wednesday, June 12 at 7:30 p.m. as part of the center’s 2nd Wednesday Theater.

On the night of a once-in-a-lifetime meteor shower, Corky and Norm have invited new acquaintances, Gerald and Laura, to watch it together at their home. Corky and Norm quickly discover that Gerald and Laura are not exactly an average couple.

The cast includes actors from WatermelonAlligator’s resident company, including Stephanie Clark, Sean MacIsaac, Garrett Olson, Bob Shire and Jess Wilson, who also directs.

“Meteor Shower” premiered in San Diego in 2016 and opened on Broadway in 2017.

The 2nd Wednesday Theater is a monthly play-reading series of rarely performed classics, undiscovered gems, old chestnuts, and new works.

Admission is free and wine is available for $5 a glass.
