Truro Agricultural Fair to Takes a Year Off

TRURO – Sustainable CAPE is reminding the public that its Truro Agricultural Fair will take a year off and return in 2020 for its 10th iteration.

Founding Director Francie Randolph explained the reasoning behind taking a year off.

“We decided this year that this was time to pause, rest, and plan for the future,” she said.

Randolph said a so-called fallow year was also taken in 2014, which allowed them to pause and focus specifically on alternative energy and children’s garden education

for the 2015 fair. Sustainable CAPE will be taking a similar approach this year in order to focus on healthy soil and climate change.

“We can see effects of climate change happening right now, and I think if we can give people the tools to do something in their own backyard to make a difference,” Randolph said. “People will respond positively and can take action.”
