‘The Weight of Silence’ to Premiere at Cotuit Center for the Arts

COTUIT – The Cotuit Center for the Arts will kick off 2019 with the premier of a play by Cheryl Allan Carlyle.

“The Weight of Silence” will run from January 10-27 in the Black Box Theater.

The play is a story of survival and unrealized loyalty that sheds light on issues from abandonment to abuse and on the inner child who shoulders the weight of it all.

Carlyle says the play invites us to ask difficult questions, to examine the impact of our action and inaction, and to explore the resiliency of the human spirit.

“The Weight of Silence” breaks the fourth wall as characters tell their stories for the very first time and address the audience directly. The method draws in viewers as both observers and allies.

Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $20 and $15 for members. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit artsonthecape.org.
