Three-Day Christmas Festival Begins On Friday

 

HARWICH – The Christmas in Harwich weekend celebration kicks off Friday at 5:15 with a welcome at Doane Park and the kick off of the Harwich Port Stroll.

The stroll will include Harwich Port businesses serving refreshments. The park will have a tree lighting and caroling at 5:30.

There will be horse drawn carriage rides and Santa will arrive by fire truck at 6:15, followed by pictures until 8:00. Santa Claus will be on hand Saturday morning at a holiday bazaar at the Harwich Elementary School.

“New this year that we’re so excited about, the first ‘Festival of Trees’ that will be at White Flowers Friday night from 6:00-9:00, and goes throughout the weekend,” said Cyndi Williams, Executive Director of the Harwich Chamber of Commerce.

The  decorated trees will be auctioned off.  There will also be a raffle for trees adorned with gifts. 

Raffle winners will be drawn on Sunday at 2:00.  The full schedule on Saturday and Sunday will include an Open house at the Cultural center, book sale, concert, wine tasting, dance performance and more time with Santa. 

Williams said the action will be widespread and end on a high note. “To round out the weekend is a tree lighting in East Harwich. Three of our seven villages will have something going on all weekend long,” she said.
