HARWICH – An organ concert will be hosted at the First Congregational Church featuring musician and music director for the church, Marcia Hempel.
The concert is a free event and will include music from Bach, Pachelbel, Locklair, Schultz, Fats Waller, and other composers.
Hempel studied at the New England Conservatory with Yuko Hayashi as well as in Providence, Rhode Island with Donald Dame.
The pipe-organ itself is a tracker action instrument built originally in 1893 by Hutchings and restored in 1972 by Beaudry.
The concert is September 8 at 3 pm at the First Congregational Church in Harwich Center.
